Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb flank steak (thinly sliced)
  • 1 lb broccoli (cut into bite-sized pieces)
  • 5 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1/2 tablespoon ginger (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 tablespoon apple vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon light soy sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon white pepper
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 2 tablespoons light soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1/2 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine sliced beef, baking soda, vinegar, soy sauce, oyster sauce, white pepper, water, and cornstarch. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  2. Mix together oyster sauce, light soy sauce, dark soy sauce, vinegar, sugar, chicken broth, and cornstarch in a separate bowl.
  3. Boil broccoli for 1-2 minutes until bright green; drain and set aside.
  4. Heat oil in a wok over medium-high heat. Add marinated beef in a single layer; cook until browned on both sides. Remove from heat.
  5. In the same wok, add more oil if needed and sauté garlic and ginger until fragrant. Add broccoli and cook for an additional minute before returning the beef to the pan along with the stir-fry sauce. Toss everything together for 1-2 minutes until well-coated.
  6. Drizzle with toasted sesame oil before serving over rice or noodles.
