  • 1 lb button or cremini mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cornmeal (optional)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • For the ranch dressing: 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried dill
  • 1 teaspoon parsley
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Prepare the ranch dressing by whisking together mayonnaise, sour cream, garlic powder, onion powder, dill, parsley, salt, and pepper. Adjust consistency with milk if needed and refrigerate.
  2. In one bowl, combine flour, cornmeal (if using), garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. In another bowl, whisk eggs and milk.
  3. Dip each mushroom slice in the egg mixture followed by the flour mixture until fully coated.
  4. Heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C) in a deep skillet. Fry mushrooms in batches for 2–3 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  5. Transfer fried mushrooms to paper towels to drain excess oil and serve with ranch dressing.
