Ingredients

Scale
  • 500 g white bread flour
  • 10 g instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 160 ml unsweetened non-dairy milk
  • 160 ml water
  • 75 g raw cashews (for the dip)

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, yeast on one side, and salt and sugar on the other. Add olive oil, lukewarm non-dairy milk, and water; mix until a rough dough forms.
  2. Knead by hand or with a stand mixer for 5–10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Let rise in an oiled bowl until doubled in size (1–2 hours).
  3. While the dough is rising, soak cashews in boiling water.
  4. Once risen, punch down the dough and divide into approximately 29 pieces (30g each). Shape each piece into balls.
  5. Arrange dough balls around an oiled ramekin on a baking sheet. Allow to rise again for about 30–40 minutes.
  6. Preheat oven to 210°C (425°F) and prepare garlic butter with melted vegan butter and crushed garlic.
  7. Bake dough balls for about 20 minutes until golden brown.
